SUDDENLY SHE FROZE BEFORE THE MOCKING THRONG. HOURS PASSED INTO ANOTHER DAY AND SHE CONTINUED TO STAND SILENT AND STILL…

On January 23, 1885 the Ft. Wayne, Indiana Gazette said, “SHE KNOCKS-EM COLD AT HARTFORD CITY- THE UNREGENERATE FALL IN SPASMS OF REGIGIOUS EMOTION.”

“Sister Etter had been told that it was to late for Hartford City and her ministry would never find roots in this city of sin. Newspaper reporters tell of Sister Etter standing on a stump near a cornfield, for the crowd had out- grown the small building, with one hand holding her Bible and the other lifted towards heaven. Suddenly she froze before the mocking throng. Hours passed into another day and she continued to stand silent and still before the ever growing crowds of mockers. When the crowd had grown to over 2,000 Sister Etter suddenly awoke and began to preach under a great anointing of the Holy Spirit. People were slain in the Spirit, falling into what the media would call a trance. There were many healing and hundreds were saved, many being the very ones that had come to mock. Because of many occasions of people, “falling in the Spirit,” the media began to refer to her as the “trance evangelist.”

STRUCK DOWN AND LAY LIKE DEAD MEN – PAGE 55, FROM “SIGNS & WONDERS”

“I commenced the meetings at nine o’clock in the morning and continued till twelve at night. We could not close, there were so many outside; when one went out, and one came in. Sinners were struck down at their homes and along the highways .They were saved for miles around.” “One day 15 doctors came from different cities to investigate the power and trances… one of the doctors was a class leader, he did not want to admit the power was from God…he was called to another part of the house; he went, expecting to find something new. To his surprise he found his son at the altar, who wanted his father to pray for him. He could not pray. God showed him what he was and what he was doing. He began to pray for himself. While praying, he fell in a trance and saw all the horrors of hell. He was falling in. after a terrible struggle, God saved him, and He went to work to win souls for Christ .I have heard him tell his awful experience to thousands. Not less than 500 were saved in one week, and hundreds after the meeting closed, as the result. Men and women were converted miles from the church, many were struck down and lay like dead men on their way home and miles away from the meeting.”

FOR TWENTY MILES ROUND MEN AND WOMEN WERE STRUCK DOWN IN THEIR HOMES, IN BUSINESS PLACES, AND ON THE ROADS AND STREETS.(PART# 4) PAGES 60-61 “SIGNS AND WONDERS” BOOK For twenty miles round men and women were struck down in their homes, in business places, and on the roads and streets. Some lay for hours and had wonderful visions. Many went into the ministry or became evangelists.”

Now Maria Woodworth prophesied around the end of July 1913,at the Stone Church Revival in Chicago, that within 100 years there would be a greater outpouring of the Spirit than what she had ever seen.

“We are not yet up to the fullness of the Former Rain and that when the Latter Rain comes, it will far exceed anything we have seen, we are within that 100 year, and we are starting to see awaking of God’s people to believe and seek God again, God is moving upon His people. Get ready for the greatest Visitation of the manifest presence of God on the earth.
